Our Pool Fencing Solutions

Riverina Gate and Fencing Solutions offers a wide range of fencing to keep your pool compliant and more importantly, safe. All pool fence panels we sell are made to meet the Australian Standards so you can be assured that what you buy from RGFS will be 100% compliant.

We do offer a wide range of colours in the flat top including Black, Woodland Grey, Monument, Surfmist, Shale Grey, Dune, Jasper, Ironstone, Primrose and Silver Pearl. With other powder coat colour not listed available on request.

The most common colour we sell by far is the black. By installing a black flat top pool fence, the fence does not draw your eye, meaning the focus is on the pool and the surrounds, making your pool area the feature of your yard.

We are happy to share our knowledge for your DIY pool fence installs, but we also strongly recommend that you speak with your local council or private certifier prior to starting any pool fence installation.

The Australian Standard can be left open to interpretation and as such, it is best to speak with the certifier who will be checking off your fence before you dig that first hole.

Some Frequently Asked Questions

Can you install a pool fence for us?

Pool fencing is our specialty, and we offer installation throughout the Wagga Wagga region. With dozens of trade clients across the Riverina, Snowy Mountains and Capital Regions we will know the right person to do the job for you if you are outside of this area.

Simply let us know the location of the job and we will steer you to an expert pool fence installer in your area.

I’m having a new pool installed and I need a quote on a fence for the bank, can you help?

Your pool installers should be able to supply you with a plan of the pool area. Simply send this through to us by email with your details and we will be in touch.

We can supply you with an estimate from the plans. From planning stage to the pool being installed there can be a few changes. As such, our final prices are determined once your pool is in and the  concrete or pavers are down. At this point we know exactly what we are dealing with.

If the pool goes in as planned the estimates we supply are usually spot on.

Some Things TO Keep In Mind...

In NSW, a pool fence must:

  • be at least 1.2m high (as measured from the finished ground level)
  • the gap under the fence must be no more than 10cm from the finished ground level
  • if a boundary fence is part of the pool fence, the barrier must be 1.8m high.
  • not have gaps of more than 10cm between any vertical bars in the fence
  • if containing horizontal climbable bars, have these spaced at least 90cm apart
  • The pool fence must be well maintained and in good working order

Non-Climbable Zones :

To prevent children accessing the pool area, the laws require pool owners to make sure they maintain a ‘non-climbable zone’ around the pool.

  • any trees, shrubs or any other objects such as a barbeque, pot plants, toys, ladders and chairs must not be within the 90cm non climbable zone.
  • this zone is measured in an arc shape from the top of the pool fence arching towards the ground.

Gates leading into Pool Yards :

If you have a gate or door that forms part of a pool barrier you must make sure that:

  • it self closes without the application of manual force
  • it self latches and requires manual release
  • the latching device is at least 150cm off the ground
  • it has a non climbable zone of 90cm that is at least 120cm above the floor
  • it does not open towards the pool, gates must swing outwards (away from the pool area). If it does not swing outwards, the gate must be re-hung so that it does.
  • is never propped open and is always kept shut

With these few tips you are on your way to ensuring that your DIY pool fence is compliant. The 90cm non climb zone is very important to understand and we can offer more advice on this if needed. But we always recommend speaking with your certifier first.
